The general protocol I have for the puppies is as follows: I put families down for picking out a puppy in the order I receive their $200 deposit. So, first deposit gets first pick, second deposit, second pick and so on. These picks are done after the litter is evaluated for show potential by myself and other breeders that I know. The puppies which are show quality will go to show homes first; (if there are any people that desire a show puppy.) Show potential cannot be determined until the puppies are at least seven weeks old, preferably eight. I try to have a day when all of the families can come and visit. It makes it easier for me since we are a busy farm family, to have everyone come on the same day, usually when the puppies around six weeks of age. No puppies can be chosen at this time, they have to be evaluated first by the other breeders and myself. I keep everyone up to date regularly by sending photos to their email/facebook. When the puppy is chosen, the remainder of the payment is due. The parents are both certified for OFA hips, elbows, eyes and heart before they are used for breeding. The puppy will be vet checked, have it’s first series of vaccinations and be given any other wormer or medication that are required before going to their new homes. They will also be sold on a limited registration with a spay/neuter agreement. If you have not filled out my Puppy Inquiry on my website please do so!
